Expected Value (EV)
EV is the average result of a decision if you could repeat it forever. A +0.3 BB decision that loses today is still the right decision. Judge lines by EV, not by the river card.

Equity
Equity is your share of the pot right now: how often your hand wins if all remaining cards were dealt with no further betting. Equity plus fold equity is what makes a semi-bluff profitable.
Pot Odds & Implied Odds
Pot odds convert a bet into the minimum equity you need to call. Implied odds add the money you expect to win on later streets when you hit — the reason speculative hands can call bad immediate prices.
Range Advantage
Compare all the hands you could hold with all the hands your opponent could hold. Whoever has more strong combinations on a board gets to bet more often, and usually larger.
Board Texture
Dry, disconnected boards favour small, high-frequency bets. Wet, connected boards reward polarised sizing and protection, because equities shift dramatically on later cards.
Blockers
Cards in your hand remove combinations from your opponent's range. Holding the ace of the flush suit means they hold the nut flush less often — that makes your hand a better bluff.
Frequency & Mixed Strategies
When two actions are close in EV a balanced strategy mixes them so you cannot be exploited. In practice, taking the higher-frequency action every time costs almost nothing.
Exploitative Adjustment
GTO is your baseline. Against a player who folds too much, bluff more; against a station, value bet thinner and stop bluffing. Deviate deliberately, not accidentally.
